Topic Brainstorm

Jataka Stories: The Foolish, Timid Rabbit
I chose this story as a potential topic because I really enjoyed writing about it this week. I like the story because it is entertaining and it shares a moral. I would like to do more with rewriting and exploring this story and truly learning more and reading different versions.

Jataka Stories: The Crocodile and The Monkey's Heart
This story is another one that is featured on the Jataka Anthology and I think it is similar in a way to The Foolish, Timid Rabbit. This story is interesting and also teaches a moral. I am not as familiar with this story, but I would really like to be more familiar with it and maybe explore rewriting it. I would like to rewrite it in a similar, but more modern way.

Yoga:
After learning more about yoga and its Indian origins, I am very interested. Over the past year, I have gotten into doing yoga and I am definitely interested in reading more and learning about the different types and origins of the practice of yoga. I would like to re-tell stories about yoga by using personal experiences.

Elephant:
Recently among people my age, elephants have become a high point of interest and people have really gotten into helping to donate money to help save them from endangerment. Previously, I was not very familiar with the issue of elephants, but after reading this article, I am educated in where these elephants come from and how endangered they really are. I would like to use re-writing to write a piece that will bring attention to elephant endangerment.
