Reading Notes: Grannie's Blackie by Ellen C. Babbitt
-An old woman was gifted at elephant
-The elephant was named "Grannie's Blackie"
-The elephant always played with all of the kids, but never worked
-Blackie wanted Grannie to come play, but she had to work
-Blackie thought it would be a good idea for him to work too
-Blackie found a job down at the river helping pull carts
-The man tried to underpay Blackie, but he would not leave without proper pay
-Blackie returned home with the money and Grannie was very pleased
